UCC Energy Pty Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of White Mining Limited,
both of which are part of the Felix Group of Companies, 
established to develop and commercialize the UCC process for producing ultra pure coal with less than 0.2% ash components. The UCC product is a fuel so pure that it can be fired directly into high efficiency gas turbines which, when used in a combined cycle configuration, can give very substantial reductions in Greenhouse Gas emissions while still using a coal based fuel. UCC can enable power generation with more than 20% savings in Greenhouse Gas emissions while still utilising the most economic and widely available energy source, coal.
 UCC was invented by CSIRO with financial support provided by the White Group. The UCC process and technology are now owned by UCC Energy, a subsidiary of White Mining Limited. UCC Energy is developing the technology into a commercial process. Australian industry and government have invested $45M ($25M from UCC Energy/The White Group) in developing the technology up to a fully integrated continuous Pilot Plant in the Hunter Valley.
